Happy Halloweeeeeeeeeeen!!!!

Well, it seems that there is no end to Halloween fun! On Friday, Sarah got all dressed up in her Strawberry Shortcake costume (Strawberry Shortcake now has long flowing red hair, and often dresses in long flowing ballgowns and strawberry crowns), and we all headed over to the elementary school for a little indoor trick-or-treating. All the kids loved seeing Tim there, and Sarah came home with a bucket full of candy. Then, yesterday, Sarah donned her costume once again, and we walked around the corner for our annual neighborhood Hayride around the local horse farm before heading over to the church for the annual Trunk-of-Treat festivities. And Sarah came home with her bucket full of candy. Having so many pre-Halloween festivities made it easy to make the decision to forego trick-or-treating tonight in an effort to honor the Sabbath. Of course, we had to keep with tradition and empty Sarah's bucket of candy and eat until we all felt sick. Sarah is always so generous with her spoils, and is never selfish.
Claudia enjoyed her first taste of caramel apples, and loved them! And, the Halloween Candy was enjoyed by all...

Pumpkin Fun!

Tonight for FHE we carved our pumpkins. We had a fun time, as usual, and are now ready for Halloween!
And this week, Sarah learned how to ride a two wheeler with no training wheels! Great job Sarah! Also, I finally caught Claudia's elusive giggle on camera... she smiles all the time, but her laughs are harder to come by. Sarah is the only one who can consistently get her to laugh out loud.

We've been having so much fun this October! The girls and I joined some friends for a hike to Bluff Point on a beautiful 'school's out' Columbus day. We took a family hike on the Pine Swamp trail last Saturday, and we had a spooky glowing dinner thanks to a black light, and some tonic water. The Fall colors are in full splendor right now, so I am loving anytime I can get outside to see the colors. The weather, overall, has been quite agreeable, promoting much outside time.

Tim's Latest Adventure

This year, instead of our usual trip to Utah for the annual family elk hunt and camping trip, we sent Tim out to Utah by himself to join my Dad, and a few others for a 'men only' trophy bull hunt. My dad has decided to purchase a special permit each year for one male member of our family (it is a special 'once-in-a-lifetime' permit, so my dad has to keep finding new people to use it so he can keep going). That person gets to be the shooter, and everyone else gets to help scout for the animals. This was Tim's year to be the 'shooter' and he had a great time! They saw a few elk every day of the hunt, but it wasn't until the last day that he saw 'the one'. Below is a slideshow of his adventure!
