Today was Sarah's first day of 1st Grade. She was supposed to start school last Wednesday, but Irene had different plans for her, and due to the extensive power outages in our area, the opening of school was postponed until today. We headed out to the bus stop in a downpour of rain, and she survived her first day of all day school. She went to bed tired tonight, but excited for a new day tomorrow.
p.s. I started this post on Tuesday, then we lost power AGAIN on Wednesday and didn't get it back until late Thursday evening (a full 36 hours), now it is Saturday, and I finally feel that I have some semblance of calm and order back in my life and can sit down at the computer for a few minutes.
