Sarah had a birthday this month. Can you believe she is eight?!?
Two days later we spent the morning at our favorite beach - Misquamicut - which was basically destroyed during Hurricane Sandy. We took Tim's new metal detector to see if we could find anything awesome, but unfortunately, we could not get the detector to work. We did have fun walking the beach though.
Most of the sand that used to be on the beach got washed up onto the parking lot. They have workers sifting through the sand to try to remove the debris and get it ready to replace on the beach.
This is a view of the piles of sand that have been sifted so far.
Here is a photo of Claudia walking on a 20 foot high pile of sand and debris that used to be the parking lot.
After our jaunt to the beach, we went home to host a Fairy Birthday party for eight of Sarah's friends. The girls decorated fairy houses, ate cake and then played 'hide and seek' with some tiny fairies in our guest room that we had decorated like a magical fairy land. After the girls found their fairies, they spent the rest of the party just pretending to be fairies themselves. They all had a wonderful time.
