Summer Fun Part 1

Sometimes Summer just gets away from you.  I know I have been a slacker about posting (I was reminded of this by my sister while visiting her in Utah last week - pictures to come).  We started off the Summer with a quick visit with some friends all the way from Italy.  They were doing a tour of New England and some of the Eastern Seaboard.  The best part is that they have two daughters that are almost the same age as our two, so despite the language barrier for the kids we all had a great time.

The next night we headed over to our favorite seaside haunt - Captian Scott's Lobster Dock - for some great seafood and entertainment.  Some acquaintances of ours have a band (The Rivergods) and they were playing a free gig that night.  We met up with some friends and had a very enjoyable evening.

Claudia made a pattern with the tartar sauce and ketchup.
Summer is a time to find boredom busters, and after a short internet search I found an idea to use sharpies and alcohol to create tie-dye t-shirts.  We decided to try it on shoes as well.  We found some white canvas shoes on sale and then turned them into some colorful originals.  It was really fun!

The finished product.

So that's it for this post of Summer Fun.  More fun to come when I find another minute to update this blog.

Ha ha... it's funny that you would mention how I nagged you to post on your blog, and I haven't posted on mine for more than a month now! For that matter, I haven't even READ any blogs for that long. I'm glad you put on photos of those cute shoes! Love you!
