So... This cute little man is officially two years old! We celebrated a few days early with presents and cake...
Claudia picked out a plastic bat and baseball to give to him...
He promptly began hitting everything in sight...
... it is now a strictly outdoor toy!
Sarah made him this absolutely darling birthday card...
I made him a racetrack playmat (the girls helped a little with the coloring in)...
The next day we headed out on our annual Rhode Island camping trip...
We celebrated his actual birthday with mom's surprise cupcakes...
... followed by a sunset tour of the lake in the kayak.
We also took a 4 mile hike that morning...
Everyone was a real trooper on the hike, especially Claudia who suffered a bee sting on her ankle about halfway through.
Emmett found a way to occupy himself while we packed up on the last day. We never used this fire pit during our stay, so we knew there were no hot embers hiding down below and he had a wonderful time getting totally messy!
