We had a really fun campout in our backyard with a campfire and delicious dutch oven cooking. Sarah loved sleeping in the tent and sitting by the fire.
We finished off the month with a super fun trip to our local town fair - Sarah had a blast!!!!!

Hard work, Backyard Campouts, and Town Fairs . . .
. . . that about sums up our August. We spent many hours splitting the wood from the trees we had taken down after one got struck by lightning . . . thankfully we had access to a hydraulic splitter from Tim's boss, which made the work a lot faster, and allowed Sarah to help.

I LOVE how Sarah's splitting wood and camping in a skirt! And also that she's wearing wings at the fair. She cracks me up! What a girlie girl!

You have a good camping wilderness right in your own backyard! Pittsburgh backyards, not so good for camping!
