Double Digits and Weekend Birthday Fun...

A few weeks ago Sarah turned 10!!!  Double Digits!!!  We celebrated the happy day by welcoming my parents to town for the weekend.  We took the girls out of school early on Thursday and headed up to Providence to gather them from the airport.  We then made our way to the Providence Children's Museum for a little fun....

We kept Sarah home from school on Friday and got to enjoy the brief snowstorm that came through that morning...

... then we headed over to our new favorite bowling alley for a little duck pin bowling with grandma and grandpa...

Saturday was Sarah's actual birthday and she wanted to help make and decorate her own cake.  She chose carrot cake...

Too late I realized that I had gotten rid of all the birthday candles after I had used them for Tim's cake in September (I usually save them to reuse), so we broke out ten tea lights to adorn the cake...
... aaaaand she opened her presents...

Her activity of choice for the day was ice skating.  Grandma graciously offered to stay home with Emmett since he wouldn't be able to skate and it would be easier to watch him at home than at the ice rink... Claudia kept saying, "Grandma should have come with us!"  We had so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa here!

The next weekend Sarah had her friend Bradly over for a 'late over' to help celebrate her birthday again...

All in all a successful double digit birthday!!!
