Today the sun was out and although the temperature was a bit chilly, we headed out for a hike on one of our local trails...
Sarah found some beautiful ice crystals formed when the ground water froze...

Claudia was the only one light enough to risk walking on the frozen pond...
Emmett was exhausted by the end and fell asleep in my arms on the way back to the car...
After our hike we decided to let Emmett sleep a little bit and headed to lunch in a nearby coastal town to a taco spot we had heard was good... it didn't disappoint. On the way back home we spotted a bowling alley and decided to stop in for game or two. It turned out to be 'Duck Pin Bowling' which I had never done before. It was perfect for the kids and I actually enjoyed it more than traditional bowling.
We ended up getting in two games and Tim won the first one handily, but the second, as you can see, he took second place to us three girls who all tied for first! Pretty amazing if you ask me!
