Years ago, when we moved to Pittsburgh, I began a love affair that will, I expect, continue for the rest of my life . . . I am, of course, talking about pierogies and keilbasa . . . YUM!! When we moved away from Pittsburgh, I searched for frozen pierogies at our local grocery store, to no avail, so I had to take matters into my own hands (literally) and into the hands of my daughter . . .
Of course, the whole process and especially the 'eating' part of the process made me think of 'da 'burgh' and all of the great times we had there! What a fun place to live!
Enjoying the 'fruits' of our labors.

What are pierogies??? They look yummy! Almost a bit like gyozas
Exquisite! (as with the new look of your blog)
Pierogies are a type of Polish dumpling, a pasta shell usually stuffed with some type of potato/cheese filling, then you boil them and then pan fry them until they are crispy - so yummy. Pittsburgh is famous for them, in fact at the Pirates baseball games, they have a guy dressed up as a pierogi come out onto the field and race around.
Perfect, delicious, yum. KIm...is there anything you can't do? I'm not joking. They actually have pierogies in the frozen section at Walmart, though I'm sure they would PALE in comparison to you and Sarah's homemade ones. :)
so now you have to share the "how"
My mouth is watering - those looked good!
You are so awesome. Can you come down and finish my furniture projects for me? Oh, and then can you make dinner for us?n Just...you know...when you're not busy...sometime.
So I just came across your blog, and I love pierogies, you've just inspired me to try to make my own as well! I always buy them packaged at the store, but your pictures make it so easy to make. :)
